METS Outcomes – 2017 College enrollments

In fall 2017, 83 METS seniors enrolled in 27 different college. This was a smaller senior class than METS usually has, mostly due to the transition to new target schools.

Following up on recent trends
In our previous studies, we
identified a few areas to study further. The first, was a trend of less students attending the University of Maine in recent years. This year, as usual UMaine was the most popular school of enrollment for METS graduates, with a rate of 21.7%. This is a return to the rates we had seen before the last two years.

UMA, UMFK, UMM and UMPI offer free tuition to Pell Eligible students

Starting in 2018, four University of Maine system campuses (University of Maine Augusta, University of Maine Fort Kent, University of Maine Machias, and University of Maine Presque Isle) will be offering free tuition to in-state students who are eligible for Pell grants. More details are still to come, but the article below does flesh out some of the requirements. One thing of note, if the program is a success, the other UMaine system schools may follow suit.

Mindset Lists – This year’s Freshman Class, and a little about the Faculty, too!

One of the skills every college student needs to learn, is how to relate with their classmates. This can be true for professor’s as well, which was the prompt for the mind-set list put out by Beloit College. Each year, they produce a list that highlights things that are true for most of this year’s traditional aged students. Continue reading
