And the What’s Next Database by Kent Public Library in Kent County Michigan is a great resource for readers of any age looking for a series of books to crank through! If you know the series, you can search by book title or author name. If you’re looking for a new series, just check off the genre and category (age) of the books you’re looking for, and search away!

That’s right, your local library has a ton of resources that you’re actually going to want to use. In fact, most local town libraries have entire sections devoted to people in middle school and high school!

Many, many studies have shown that there are many benefits for high school students who regularly read during the summer. Students who don’t may suffer from “Summer Slide” which is when students can lose up to a month of the knowledge they learned during the previous year. I don’t know about you, but I’m not interested in having to learn the same things twice.
Reading is also the best, and most enjoyable way to improve your vocabulary, which is a must if you are going to be taking the SAT soon!
