The student named above has expressed interest and may be eligible to participate in the Maine Educational Talent Search program (METS). METS is designed to assist socio-economically and educationally disadvantaged students in aspiring to and preparing for post-secondary education. This student is potentially eligible for METS program services based on socio-economic status and/or first generation status. First generation is indicated when neither parent has obtained a baccalaureate degree. Traditionally, these students are at risk of not successfully completing high school and/or entering post-secondary education.
