Chantalle’s mother is a strong advocate for her children to further their education. “My mom never went to college and it’s one thing she regrets. I knew that I would go before I knew what I wanted to do.” The turning point that motivated her to pursue her education was when she was in the eighth grade and was chosen as class marshal for graduation. She states that her Talent Search advisor “let me know what schools offered and we traveled to different colleges to see them.” When Chantalle was in the eighth grade she received the Citizenship award. She was inducted into the National Honor Society in her junior year and is the president of her senior class. She plans on attending college for X-ray technician or early childhood education. “I will have an education where I can work anywhere and support my family.” |
