Ashley a Maine Educational Talent Search alumniAshley has worked hard to earn her good grades in high school. Like many TRiO students, Ashley has had limited family support in her life and is proud to have made it “all on her own.” Ashley knows that she would not be able to achieve her future goals without a college education. With limited funding available for her post-secondary education, Ashley auditioned successfully for the ROTC program at St. Michael's and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Ashley credits her METS advisor, Danielle Printz, with assisting her in many ways – keeping her organized, helping her find the right colleges, advocating for scholarships and helping Ashley maintain a steady course to a bright future.

Among her many academic awards and athletic accomplishments, Ashley is especially proud of maintaining a 3.8 grade point average, being awarded a full ROTC scholarship as well as her All-State Field Hockey status. She hopes to continue with field hockey in college.

Ashley believes that a college degree will affect her life in “a huge way, by experiencing many new and exciting things that I would never be able to do if I didn't attend college…. it will help me mature emotionally and mentally to become the person I want to be and to be successful in my life.”
