Sarah Sockalexis' Bio

I began working as the Advisor for Searsport and Corinth in August of 2006 after completeing a year of service with AmeriCorps where I worked with youth transitioning out of the foster care system.

I have 2 daughters and live on Indian Island (Penobscot Nation Reservation). In our spare time we attend pow-wows with their dad's drum group The Rez Dogs.

The Maine Educational Talent Search Project is funded entirely by the US Department of Education. The grant award for 2007-2008 is $510,255.
